Struthion

product, clarified.

Struthion is a product management and strategy practice led by Samantha Park. It helps founders, small businesses and growth-stage teams decide what to build, test it with real users, and get it built.

Who it is for

For teams that need clarity before they commit.

Early-stage founders.

There is an idea, early traction or a stalled MVP. Struthion pins down the problem, the customer and the smallest thing worth building.

Small businesses building software.

The business is not software, and software is about to get built. Struthion scopes the product, works with designers and developers, and keeps the budget from going to the wrong build.

Growth-stage companies.

The product organization needs a leader, or a stronger discovery and delivery practice. Struthion steps in on an interim or full-time basis.

Something else? Engagements are shaped around the problem. If none of these fit, the scoping call is the place to say so.

Services

Ways to work together.

Each one is defined, then scoped to the client. Scope, timing and team are settled on the scoping call. Most engagements start with a few weeks of focused work. Questions about pricing? Let's talk about your needs.

2 to 4 weeks

Clarity Sprint.

For a vague idea, a product people are not adopting, or a team that cannot agree on what to build. It can end with advice, or continue into running the experiments.

3 to 6 weeks

Prototype & Validate.

Turns a clear direction into something people can react to, before anyone commits to a full build.

Interim, part-time to full-time

Fractional Head of Product.

Embedded product leadership for companies that lack it, or are between leaders.

Open-ended

Build support.

Added to any engagement above, or on its own. Struthion stays with the build until the product is in production and the first users are adopting it, for as long as that takes. It always combines two things.

None of these quite right? Work can be shaped to fit the problem. Start with a conversation.

Approach

How an engagement runs.

The steps below are typical. Every engagement is scoped to the client, so the pace and the mix change.

  1. 1

    Scope.

A 30-minute call to understand the problem, the people involved and what a good result looks like. A written scope follows, planned around the client's needs and budget.

    You get

  2. 2

    Work in phases.

Each phase has defined deliverables. Phases fit the need: discovery, user research, a prototype and tests, or a simple project.

    You get

  3. 3

    Decide.

At the end of each phase, review what was found and choose what happens next.

    You get

Need a leader, not a project?

Fractional leadership works differently.

Assess.

Review the product, the team, the roadmap and the open decisions, then decide on a course of action. Can stand alone, or flow into an execution phase.

Lead the product.

Jump right in. Fill the role as head of product: own the roadmap and priorities, and run discovery and delivery alongside the team.

Coach the team.

Coach the team and set up the foundations: discovery and delivery practices, team rituals and release quality.

Any of these can include hiring and training support for a successor.

Let's build clarity together.
